Season 2/ Episode 26: Tough Topics, Tough Talk
In All Seriousness
In this week’s episode, Jill and Tony opened up about the things they don’t like to discuss.
Tony told listeners to go ahead and get those difficult or painful conversations out of the way.
Jill said that when you do have those tough talks, listen closely to the response. If you do, you’ll be able to tell a lot about the person.
Jill and Tony have other advice:
- Be honest about your fears and dislikes. Maybe the other person can help you through it.
- Be a good listener. Period.
- If someone opens up to you, understand that it may have taken a lot of courage for them to do so.
How have you handled tough talk about tough topics? Let us know in the comments section.
Thanks for listening!

When I hear/read something that makes me uncomfortable or that I don’t understand, my first instinct is to avoid it. I’ve come to realize that these are the very things I should pay attention to. When I think back on remarks or actions that I didn’t pursue, I wish I had questioned more. It’s too late for many of these issues. All I can do is pay closer attention now.
