Be Wise with Your Influencer Selections

In this week’s podcast episode, Jill and Tony discuss how they have rubbed off on each other and why you should be selective about the people you spend time with the most.

People influence each other, of course, and that can yield positive and negative results.

We Want to Hear from You

Tell us about a time when you have either rubbed off on someone or they rubbed off on you. Was it a positive or negative experience? Why or why  not?

Leave your response in either our Comments section below or as a voicemail message by calling 404-594-2247.

We look forward to hearing from you.

In order to decide how or if a partner will influence you, you probably need to be confident in your own beliefs. Those who lack self-confidence are in danger of deferring to others because they don’t trust or value themselves. Once again, it seems healthy relationships depend on a strong sense of who we are. Two self-aware, confident people can influence each other in positive ways—however if one person in a relationship does not trust his/her opinions, there can and probably will be negative outcomes. That is not to say that confident persons can’t help insecure partners to form their own opinions, but it works both ways. Strong partners may not know how misguided they can be without someone to voice opposition. Weak partners may not realize it’s time to run.

Yes, amen to all that you said. 👏🏽👏🏽

My husband and I rub off on each other in miniscule ways. His interest in model trains and travel by train have really rubbed off on me. Sean now walks, because of me. However, we are very different. He is a night owl, and I’m a morning person. That will never change.

Thanks for commenting, Shannon! Traveling by train sounds like fun, and you know my joy of walking. I will never be a morning person, but Tony has helped me get up earlier these past weeks, so maybe there’s a chance. 😉
